your Commission Is Reserved
What Comes Next

Thank you for placing your trust in the studio.
Your portrait session is now reserved. From here, we will guide you through each stage.
You will receive a series of emails with practical information about preparing for your session. Approximately one week before we meet, Nisha will reach out to answer any remaining questions and ensure you know what to expect.
Your Portrait Commission Includes
- Guidance as you prepare for your session
- A private studio portrait session with Jérôme
- A same-day viewing and design consultation
- One framed 12 × 12-inch monochrome portrait of your choice, ready to hang
The framed 12 × 12-inch portrait is a complete artwork. No additional purchase is required.
During the viewing, the full $1,500 value of your commission may instead be applied toward a larger monochrome portrait, a collection of monochromes or an original mixed-media artwork.
Clients who choose to expand their commission generally invest $4,500 or more. The final investment reflects the portraits selected, the chosen medium, and the scale appropriate to the artwork and its place in your home
Preparing for Your Session
The preparation is considered, but it does not need to be complicated. Everything here serves the same purpose: to create a portrait that is honest, complete and worthy of a permanent place in your home.
The Conversation
Approximately one week before your session, Nisha will reach out for a brief phone conversation. This is a chance to revisit the practical details, answer any remaining questions and ensure you feel prepared for the experience.
Select Your Wardrobe
As a general guide, dark, solid colours photograph beautifully and allow attention to remain on faces, gestures and relationships. Clothing does not need to match or feel like a family uniform. Choose pieces that feel like you and avoid anything that competes for attention. View the portrait style guide here —>
Consider Your Walls
Before your session, take a few simple photographs of any walls where you might imagine the finished artwork living. Stand directly in front of each wall and include the floor and ceiling when possible.
These photographs help us understand the proportions of the space and recommend an appropriate scale. They are also useful if more than one portrait becomes important to you during the viewing.
Come as You Are
There is nothing to perform or prove. Nothing needs to be rehearsed, and you do not need to know how to pose. Simply arrive as yourself.

It was something deeper—a feeling of being seen, and artwork that will live in my family for generations.
— Emma
During Your Portrait Session
Your portrait session will last approximately two hours. Jérôme will guide you from beginning to end, paying attention to expression, gesture and the relationships within the frame.
Some portraits may feel still and internal; others may emerge through interaction or movement. Nothing is forced. The aim is not performance, but presence—a portrait that looks like you and holds something true.
The Viewing Experience
Together, we consider which portraits carry the most meaning, how they relate to one another, and the scale and materials appropriate to them.
Your finished artwork may remain as the single framed portrait already included with your commission, or it may develop into a larger monochrome artwork, a collection of portraits or an original mixed-media work. Your portrait selection is made during this viewing.
After the Viewing
Before you leave the studio, we will confirm your portrait selection, the scale and materials of the finished work, the final investment, and the expected completion time.
Your artwork will then enter production. Monochrome works are generally completed within 12 to 16 weeks. Original mixed-media works require approximately four to six months.
Once the work is ready, the studio will contact you to arrange collection or delivery.
For Now
Keep an eye on your inbox. Your preparation emails will arrive automatically, and Nisha will reach out approximately one week before your session.
If a question comes up before then, simply reply to any email from the studio or contact us at studio@jerome.art.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
