INVESTING IN PORTRAIT ART

Portraits made to live with for generations

Each commission is deliberately created, physically finished and given a permanent place in the home.

The Portrait Commission Investment

Every portrait commission begins with the studio experience and includes:

  • An initial planning conversation
  • A private portrait session with Jérôme
  • A same-day viewing and selection in the studio
  • One framed 12 × 12-inch monochrome portrait of your choice

Investment: USD $1,500.

Choosing Your Artwork

The framed 12 × 12-inch monochrome portrait included in your commission is a ready-to-hang artwork. No additional purchase is required.

At the viewing, the full $1,500 commission value may instead be applied toward a larger monochrome portrait, a collection of monochromes, or an original mixed-media artwork, as you prefer.

Monochrome portraits begin at $1,500.
Original mixed-media artworks begin at $9,500.

Clients who choose to expand their commission typically invest $4500+, depending on the scale, number of portraits and medium selected.

Do you have a set price list?

Since each portrait session is bespoke, the resulting artwork cannot be confined to predetermined sizes, groupings or packages. Pricing for larger monochrome portraits, collections and original mixed-media artworks depends on the final selection.

At the viewing, Jérôme will help you consider which portraits belong together and the scale appropriate to the artwork and the room. The final investment and completion time therefore depend on the artwork you select.

Creating Your Finished Artwork

Once your selections have been made, each chosen portrait is individually remastered in the studio. The image is carefully retouched, then printed on satin cotton rag paper, chosen for its depth, softness and subtle sheen reminiscent of traditional photographic prints.

From there, the path depends on the artwork you have chosen. Monochrome portraits are finished and framed in ash wood, carefully stained so the natural grain and character of the wood remain visible. Original mixed-media works continue through a second artistic process, as Nisha works directly onto the photographic print with oils, pigments and beeswax, building surface, texture and depth by hand.

Completion typically takes 12–16 weeks for monochrome portraits and 4–6 months for original mixed-media artworks.

You do not need to know exactly what the portrait will become. Begin with who it is for and why this moment matters.
