What types of portrait commissions do you offer?

We specialize in fine-art portraiture, with a particular focus on individuals, couples, and families—creating finished artwork that preserves their most meaningful relationships. Select work beyond the studio is also considered, including editorial collaborations, environmental portraiture, and concept-led commissions. These projects are undertaken individually.

How far in advance should I reserve a portrait sitting?

We recommend reserving your portrait sitting 8 to 12 weeks in advance, particularly during holiday periods or when a specific date is important.

What should we wear for the portrait sitting?

We provide full guidance before the portrait sitting. Classic, neutral tones and coordinated clothing generally work best. Outfits do not need to match.

What does a portrait commission cost?

A portrait art commission begins with a studio commission of $1,500, fully credited toward the finished artwork selected at the viewing. The commission may resolve within that value as a framed monochrome portrait, or the full amount may be applied toward a larger monochrome collection or an original mixed-media artwork.

Can extended family members join the portrait sitting?

Yes. Multi-generational family portrait commissions are welcome. Let us know in advance who will participate so the sitting can be planned appropriately.

What is your cancellation or rescheduling policy?

To transfer your commission to a new date, please provide at least 14 days’ notice.

Will our portraits be shared publicly?

Portraits are shared only with explicit client permission. If you prefer to keep your portraits private, that decision will be fully respected.

How long does it take to receive the finished artwork?

Creating fine art takes time. Monochrome portraits are generally completed within 12 to 16 weeks. Original mixed-media artwork requires approximately four to six months, as each piece is developed and finished by hand.

Every portrait commission is completed in one of two forms: a framed monochrome portrait or an original mixed-media artwork developed by hand.

You do not need to decide before the portrait session. The choice is made at the viewing, once you have seen the portraits and can consider what belongs on the walls of your home.

Mixed-Media Artwork

A photograph worked by hand with oil, pigment and beeswax. Each artwork is entirely one of a kind and completed over four to six months.

What kinds of portrait art commissions do you create?

We create portrait commissions for individuals, couples and families. Each begins with a studio portrait session and is completed either as a framed monochrome portrait or as an entirely one-of-a-kind mixed-media artwork.

How much does a fine art portrait commission cost?

A portrait commission begins at $1,500 and includes the initial conversation, portrait session, same-day viewing, and one framed 12 × 12-inch monochrome portrait. At the viewing, the full commission value may instead be applied toward a larger monochrome portrait, a collection of monochromes, or an original mixed-media artwork.

Do I need to know what I want before the portrait session?

No. There is no need to decide beforehand how many portraits you may want, or whether the commission will become monochrome or mixed-media artwork. It can be helpful to take a few measurements and consider where a portrait might live in your home, but the final decisions are made at the viewing, after seeing the portraits. The first step is simply to fall in love with the work.

What if I am uncomfortable in front of the camera?

Most people we photograph feel that way. You do not need to know how to pose or what to do. Jérôme guides you throughout the portrait session, paying attention to body language, expression and the relationships between you. The purpose is not to perform for the camera, but to allow something true to be seen

Is each person a separate portrait commission?

No. Everyone taking part is photographed within one commission. During the portrait session, Jérôme may create individual portraits, portraits of siblings or couples, and the family together. At the viewing, you decide which portraits you wish to complete. The final investment is determined by the finished artwork you select, not by the number of people photographed.

Do portrait commissions include digital files?

No. A portrait commission is created to become finished artwork for your home, not a collection of digital files. The portraits you select are completed as framed monochrome works or one-of-a-kind mixed-media artwork. Digital files are not included or sold separately.

How and when do I select my portraits?

Immediately after the portrait session, you will see the work during a private same-day viewing. This is when you select the portraits you love and decide whether they will become a framed monochrome portrait, a collection of monochromes, or an original mixed-media artwork. Jérôme will guide you through scale, placement and what may work best in your home.

Can children and extended family take part in the portrait session?

Yes. Family portrait commissions may include children, siblings, grandparents and others who are important to the family. Jérôme creates portraits of the family together, as well as individuals and smaller relationships within it. Children do not need to sit perfectly or perform for the camera; they are given the time and direction they need.

Will our portraits remain private?

Yes. Every portrait commission is treated with discretion. Nothing from your session is published, exhibited or shared by the studio without your permission. If Jérôme wishes to show a portrait publicly, the studio will ask for your consent first.
