Family Portrait Photographer & Portrait Artist

JÉRÔME

Art & Photography

A family portrait is far more than a photograph. It recognizes the people whose presence shapes a family, and it preserves that intimate connection as original artwork—for generations.

JÉRÔME Art & Photography is a portrait studio that creates family portrait commissions as monochrome portraits and one-of-a-kind mixed-media artworks. Each commission is meant to live as art on the walls of your home.

The Portrait Session

Most people arrive carrying a version of themselves they have learned to present.

A portrait session is about creating the space for what is authentic to emerge. As the conversation unfolds, expression softens, gestures become more natural, and relationships begin to reveal themselves without effort.

Jérôme’s approach to luxury family photography begins with the relationships already present. Through attention and gentle direction, the gestures, expressions, and connections unique to each family come into view.

You’re not just being photographed. You’re being seen.

A contemporary portrait photographer carries responsibility for how people are seen. Every choice—where attention rests, what is encouraged, what is framed, and what is preserved—affects what the portrait reveals.

Jérôme’s work begins with a simple belief: in the absence of judgment, we are beautiful. His responsibility is to look without imposing judgment, allowing presence, character, and relationship to come forward.

FAMILY PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHER & PORTRAIT ARTIST

Jérôme Scullino

Jérôme was born in the South of France and spent his childhood between the Alps and the Mediterranean. His education later took him to England, New York, and Canada, where he has lived and worked since 1996.

For more than twenty-five years, portraiture has been at the centre of his work. What began in photography has developed into monochrome portraits and original mixed-media artwork created for families and their homes.

A defining moment came in 2007, when Jérôme photographed the elders of Collioure, many between eighty-five and one hundred and five years old. He was struck by the strength of their presence—and by how easily they had become overlooked.

In Collioure, he understood that observation alone could not make the portrait. It came from the encounter: from the full attention he gave and the presence with which they met him.

That dialogue between attention and presence remains at the centre of Jérôme’s work.

The artwork today

Today, Jérôme creates monochrome portraits and original mixed-media artwork. The work is internally driven—the sum of his obsessions.

His approach to luxury portrait photography is personal and deliberate. Monochrome comes first, because presence is clearer without distraction. Each selected portrait is finished either as a monochrome print or as an original mixed-media artwork, then beautifully framed to take its place on a wall in your home.

He values the integrity of light and materials, the discipline of the studio, and the artist’s vision—not the market’s demand. The process is slow and intentional. The artwork is carefully curated, with few images carrying all the meaning.

The luxury is down-to-earth, bespoke, character-led, and human. The artwork exists for the family who lives with it now and for the generations who inherit it.

Behind every portrait is a family.

Jérôme’s wife, Nisha, is his creative partner and a pillar of the studio, working alongside him throughout the portrait process and in the creation of the original mixed-media artwork. Their life together with their daughters is a constant reminder that our lives are formed through the people who help us become ourselves.

That understanding continues to guide every family portrait commission.

It is why Jérôme’s work as a family portrait photographer is concerned not only with how people look, but with the relationships, gestures, and histories that connect them.

Jérôme has a gift for making people feel at ease. Our session felt like a conversation, not a photoshoot.

BEGIN A PORTRAIT CONVERSATION

It is not necessary to know exactly what the portrait will become. If you share who it is for and why it matters, together we will let it take form.
