Monochrome Portraits

In monochrome, something essential comes forward.
Without colour, the portrait holds only what matters — presence, form, and time.

"Jerome has a gift for revealing what already exists. The experience was gentle and respectful. The portraits are simply stunning."

Melina

Black-and-white portrait of a family of three, with a young boy leaning close to his parents, capturing an intimate and loving moment, by Jerome Art Photography.

In the absence of colour, the image reduces to what matters.
A monochrome portrait holds presence without distraction.
Made to live with, each piece carries weight.

A portrait becomes complete when it takes physical form.
Each piece is produced on 100% archival cotton rag using pigment inks chosen for tonal fidelity and permanence.
Every print is hand-inspected, signed, and prepared in-studio, with conservation-grade mounting and framing available.

The standard is simple: the work should feel as considered decades from now as it does today.

This is black and white as a finished object — shaped by craft, meant to be lived with.

The work is shaped in studios in Miami and Toronto, with commissions also taking place in Ottawa and Montreal.

"Jérôme was able to draw out a true and natural representation of each of us. Encountering the honesty of his photography was deeply moving."
