Monochrome Portraits

With presence you emerge.
Echo in time.
What remains is felt.

"Jerome has a gift for revealing what already exists. The experience was gentle and respectful. The portraits are simply stunning."

Melina

Black-and-white portrait of a family of three, with a young boy leaning close to his parents, capturing an intimate and loving moment, by Jerome Art Photography.

Quiet, honest, enduring.

In the absence of colour, something essential reveals itself. A monochrome print is a deliberate reduction. The portrait holds presence. Made to live with. Each piece carries weight and what is left is what is felt.

From Light to Archival Form

Award winning framed black and white portrait of a young woman with dark hair, eyebrow piercing and nose ring, softly lit against a dark background, showcasing Jérôme Scullino’s signature fine art portrait style.
Close-up of a lay-flat folio spine with thick cotton rag pages showing archival construction.
Black-and-white portrait printed on cotton rag paper with visible texture and clean white border.

A portrait is complete only when it takes physical form. Each piece is produced on 100% archival cotton rag using pigment inks chosen for tonal fidelity and permanence.

Every print is hand-inspected, signed, and prepared in-studio, with conservation-grade mounting and framing available. The standard is simple: the work should feel as considered decades from now as it does today.

This is black and white as a finished object — shaped by craft, meant to be lived with.

The work is shaped in studios in Miami and Toronto, with commissioned sessions also taking place in Ottawa and Montreal—each space designed to support this quiet focus.

Jérôme was able to draw out a true and natural representation of each of us. Encountering the honesty of his photography was deeply moving.
