PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY EXHIBITIONS

Jérôme Scullino,
exhibiting artist.

Explore bodies of work created across Europe and North America. These portrait photography exhibitions bring together long-form projects rooted in people, place, and the passage of time.

Beyond commissioned portraiture, they trace the experiences, relationships, and ideas that have influenced Jérôme’s artistic practice—revealing not what was imposed, but what already existed to be found.

The Portrait Exhibition Artist

For nearly two decades spent giving people the time and attention necessary for something true to surface.

Jérôme Scullino is a portrait artist and photographer whose work explores presence, relationship, memory, and the ways people are shaped by one another.

His practice spans monochrome portraiture, mixed-media artwork, and long-form photographic projects developed across people and place.

Alongside his portrait commissions, these projects have been presented through photography exhibitions and portrait exhibitions in Canada, France, and the United States.

COLLIOURE, FRANCE, 2007

The Elders of Collioure

Not portraits of age. Portraits of continuity.

An original idea by Jérôme, commissioned by Michel Moly, Mayor of Collioure — the Catalan village that anchored Matisse's Fauvist movement, and home to French photographer Robert Doisneau.

Moly supported the creation of the work and later presented The Elders of Collioure in two solo exhibitions: first at the Mairie de Collioure, then six months later at the Vieux Port Gallery, where the portraits remained on view throughout June, July, and August.

The exhibition was covered by L’Indépendant.

In 2025, a photograph from the series became a LensCulture Editors’ Pick.
