Passion is the fuel that ignites artistry. Browse through any photography website, and you'll find some of the most passionate people. It’s one of the things I love most about this profession. Most of us do what we do because we’re captivated by the art of photography. And yes, many of us are also incredibly competitive, each believing we’re the best choice—not only because we have passion but because we bring a unique artistry to our work. We’re like car racers: driven by passion and fiercely competitive.

The challenge, though, is that we artist-photographers often undervalue our work. Early in my career, I struggled with this. I had passion, but without recognition—both self-recognition and appreciation from clients—my creativity felt stifled. Those first few years were about more than just mastering my craft; they were about discovering my artistic voice and learning to run my business in a way that honored it.

Where there is passion, there is art—but as I learned, passion alone isn’t enough. There’s an internal struggle, especially in the early days, that can lead to building the wrong foundation. For me, it was a roller coaster. But with the unwavering encouragement, hard work, and belief of my incredible wife, Nisha, I found my way to a place where I could truly flourish.
